Dreamwork
2025

Dreamwork is an experimental documentary series about artists’ alter egos and how they construct reality. Built as a long-term collaborative worldmaking process between the director and the participating artists, each episode follows an artist who has sustained an embodied practice through alter personas over years. Using a psychosomatic dreamwork framework, the series explores artists’ identity formation beyond normative structures, where fiction and embodiment reshape reality. The episodes constitute an interconnected virtual world that reflects on artificiality, constructed selves, and collective worldbuilding.

The first episode of Dreamwork features Nicole Clore, the legendary alter-ego of dancer and choreographer Csaba Molnár. Nicole Clore is a world-famous choreographer, educator, singer-songwriter, theatre and film director, art writer, critic, game and character designer, psychotherapist and dance artist.

Episode One was premiered at ISBN+ in Budapest in an underground screening space. The episode portrays the virtual reality of Dreamwork and the persona of Nicole Clore, where one of Nicole’s wild dreams comes to life and sweeps the crew into its perfect storm. This world is a landscape shaped by fantastical creatures, where symbols pierce through bodies, and composite identities, inhabited by infrastructures that whisper the stories of shared fantasy.
